One of my friends is spending this spring abroad in a fabulous city of Saint Petersburg. She studies Russian language, so it was just a matter of time, when she goes abroad to expand her knowledge and to get some conversational skills talking with genuine Russians. At the same time I was working on this notebook, I also made one for her in similar style and technique, with the difference, that in front cover there is a map of St. Petersburg- partly summarized from the real map, partly drawn by myself. Covers were printed on a recycled paper and the interior was stuffed with multicoloured pages.
This was a getaway gift from me, which I handed out with warning that I want to see some things written in there- maybe some new russian phrases or just interesting things that will come along her way. A few years ago I went with this same friend on a trip to Moscow and despite the cold and snow and grumpy people, we had a great time. I’m guessing that except missing people, she is having a blast and she has already sent us a photo from Petersburg, wearing this chic kuchma, which was a custom made gift from her boyfriend- how cool is that?
